Tennis – College: A Real Training To Build Future Dreams.
Playing tennis and studying at an American university, besides being an experience that offers many
emotions, prepares for the future after college in the best possible way. As in all experiences, there are
moments that you would like to relive a thousand times and others in which you cannot wait to turn the
page.
It is thanks to this mix that college prepares to face life.
I still have all the emotions experienced in making my video recruiting that I propose in this post, the
interviews with the coaches of the tennis teams of the various universities, the signature on the contract
where I was recognized for scholarship, the arrival in San Diego welcomed by the coach and the team
members. The city with these significant skyscrapers where everything is immense in a
disproportionate way compared to the architecture of European cities but infinitely attractive and
exciting.
Many professional and semi-professional tennis players arrive at a certain point in their career where
they need new stimuli, new adventures, and new perspectives. They look around to find new solutions,
and one of them may be the choice to play for an American college and live their own "American
Dream" where
it is all oversize. Including dreams and possibilities.
The experience you get at an American college is unforgettable. It marks you out for living positively.
It trains you culturally and sportily; it allows you to meet guys from various parts of the world and
open many doors in the workplace. The American degree also allows you to find work in the States by
offering you a VISA card (green card).
The daily rhythms are very rigid, awake at 7.00, to follow 4 hours of lessons, lunch, and three hours of
sports training. When you return, you must then study to prepare for the exams, as you must be annual
to maintain the benefits
obtained.
Not to mention psychological and physical fatigue during the examination period. Excuses to skip
training, the athletic session, or not give 100%; however, there are none because every day is an
opportunity to show the coach that you
are ready to play. The internal competition is very high.
Another important thing about college tennis is that you are recognized for what you deserve, in short,
the principle of proper and healthy meritocracy. Characteristics, however, are already inherent in tennis
as a sport. The coach is like a company boss; if you do your job well, promotions come; in the case of
college, opportunities to play or additional benefits come. As it should be, sometimes, the opposite
happens. Many times even in a company, the owner asks for results from the workers, so being ready
to handle these pressures is very important.
There are many similarities between real working life and that of the binomial college, tennis.
Tennis and, therefore, the American experience represents real training to build future dreams, and as
the Olympic champion Gabriella Dorio says: "Sport must teach to give the maximum, and to say: more
than that I could not
do."
No
doubt. This, to this day, represents the most important experience of my life.
